Turkish citizens and citizens of other countries living in Turkey can apply to the relevant foreign missions to settle in Hungary. Residence permit application is subject to different procedures depending on the purpose of entry. For example, those seeking a residence permit for gainful purposes must attach a valid invitation letter approved by BM BÁH to their file. Additionally, a work position document written by the employer must be submitted for work permit requests. Other required documents may include an employment contract, three-month bank statement, labor requisition list, and vocational training documents.

Documents such as a title deed or a rental agreement are also required to prove the place of residence in Hungary. Additionally, if there are expenses covered by the employer, statements documenting this should also be attached. In long-term visa and residence permit applications, varying documents are requested depending on the purpose of travel and professional status.

Students going to Hungary for education must submit their visa requests to the Hungarian Embassy in Ankara and select the Residence permit (except family reunion and work) appointment type. Students should apply for a long-term residence permit as soon as possible after obtaining a visa.
